Audio Export Tempo issues

I am having this same issue with cubase 5 64bit… in the project the tempo is fine but becomes much slower when exported as an mp3/wav…
Im not totally clued up on sample rates but from what i can tell they are all good. its set at 44.1. Ive even changed the tempo in the project to make it faster and still no avail. any help appreciated!
oh also using a novation nio 2/4

And is the file also pitched down…?

actually just found out the settings where wrong. it was running 48 in cubase and 44 outside. iv changed the settings to 48 in the control pannel in windows and its still the same. if i do the reverse and change cubase to 44 it slows it down to the speed of the export. how come it wont do it the other way round!?! i want it all at 48…

As you found out yourself, it´s a samplerate mismatch.
