Apologies about starting another topic on this. I searched the forum and noted loads of similarly based topics. However, for my issue (described below) there were too many topics that I felt I could post this “fix” to. If I have done wrong, apologies.
So…
I’m on Cubase 15 Pro (latest update), exporting my Audio Mixdown to any file type always resulted in a lower volume Stereo Mix.
The thing is, unlike others who may only have perceived a volume difference I could SEE the volume decrease on the Control Room meter (yes I use Control Room and have it set up correctly with my Stereo outs going no-where!) and also the Supervision Plugin I have on the CR Insert.
None of the suggested fixes applied or worked for me. And whilst this may be obvious to a lot of users I figured something out - the Audio Export appears to use the “Listen” level (at least it does on my setup!).
I noted that in Control Room the Listen Level was set to -6dB, setting this to 0dB resulted in exactly the same output level being Exported to file as I was listening to when playing it back on Cubase itself.
So, I don’t whether this may be useful to any others with the “Export Volume too low” issue or not. If this is an obvious error to all then please let me know and I can remove this post.
BTW this forum has helped me solve countless issues over the years I’ve been a Cubase user - just thought I could give something back if this is relevant.
I know it sounds stupid, and it is maybe more like something I have on the Stereo Out channel (I have a Weiss Mastering chain). But I can assure you that the Control Level is at 0dB, and the Stereo Out Channel is at 0dB also. In other words it is not the control room volume that is making a difference.
I’ve just tried the same test again, and it remains true for my setup.
If I could post a video I’d love to show you.
As I said, I thought it was likely something that might not be actually what I think is happening. Sorry if I’ve been dim. I did carefully check all the previously posted suggestions to try to rectify my issue of lower export volume, this just seemed to work! I guess I should take the win where I can?!
By design nothing… NOTHING in the Control Room should have any influence on audio export whatsoever. If it does, it would be a major bug and that is why I was so keen on testing it.
