Audio Hardware Removed (unable to click away - since Cubase 13)

When my laptop (OSX) comes out of Sleepmode I have this persistent ‘Audio Hardware Removed’. I can’t click another ASIO driver or click ‘OK’, even where there are different options to choose.

Old topic since Cubase 10:

Is this really such a tough one to fix?

I recommend tagging this as issue , with the noted difference that in C15, they have removed the “Cancel” button for this dialog. Previously, when new hardware was added, one could easily hit “ESC” or click “Cancel” and it would be ignored. In C15 however, you are forced to accept the change. One can indeed choose what device you want, but the user has to remember what it was at the time of last closing, and I believe this change is non-trivial. Forcing a “destructive” change is not how it should work.

I would further suggest also adding feature-request if you would like to see this entire process directed by a Preference instead. Aggregate devices, test equipment, and any number of real-world situations make adding system hardware (including virtual devices) common; we should be able to set a preference to “ignore new hardware.”

The “Cancel” functionality at a very minimum needs to be restored; adding a Preference would be ideal in my opinion.
