I recently bought a Virus TI2. Everything runs quite flawlessly via the Virus Control plugin. But as Cubase doesn´t support audio ins for Intrument plugins I can only route audio thru the Virus FX from the DAW by inserting the plugin on an audio track and then sidechaining the audio tracks which I wanna put thru the Virus. The downside of this method is you have only the main out of the Virus left ( you cannot use all 3 stereo out busses.)
So it would be nice if Cubase would allow Audio ins or sidechaining for Instrument plugins.
