Hello,

Could you please choose from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostics Report and post the corresponding zip file? Thanks
here you go, thanks!
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (1.9 MB)
Thanks for the data, @mameza7 .
So you are talking about the SSL interface, right?
Is it possible that you are using it also in other applications and that only one app can exclusively have access to it?
Hello,
Yes, I am referring to the SSL interface. I generally use it for my computer, in terms of using the headphones through the interface (with Spotify, etc). I am not sure if it is only able to be used on a different application.
Dorico’s audio engine logs the current run, plus retains the logs of the last 10 runs. I see that the the SSL got detected in all but one run and that one started 2024-09-29 20h 41m 32s and ended same day at 20h 50min 24s.
So from that perspective, it is not happening all the time. It appears to be more sporadic rather than a general rule.
How is the SSL connected to your computer, via USB? Could it be an electrical problem? Did you try to connect on a different port or try to swap cables?
Hello,
Thanks. for the reply. I don’t think it’s an electrical issue or with the port. It is connected via USB. When I close and open the computer again, this message pops up. I am not sure if this is from Dorico or my computer. When I unplug and replug the audio interface and then restart Dorico, it works.
Hi @mameza7 ,
that dialog box comes from Steinberg software, to be more precise from the BAIOS component which is essential for ASIO because it drives the audio engine with the steady clock for the time slices in which the audio processing is done. The BAIOS also enumerates all audio devices at start up and reports them to the audio engine, respectively Dorico.
So if that dialog pops-up, could you please launch /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup.app which lists all the audio devices that the operating system thinks are connected. Is your SSL among them?
The “Audio Hardware Removed” message box comes from Dorico’s audio engine, no question about that. But is it possible that in Audio MIDI Setup the SSL also shortly away and then comes back again shortly after?
Because as you can see, via the BAIOS component Dorico gets definitely the notification that the SSL disappeared. Maybe the SSL comes back so quickly that our BAIOS can’t handle it properly.
Could you please always have the Audio MIDI Setup app open and check if you can see there things happen? Thanks
