Audio Mixdown - No Wave nor Mp3

I can play back my project so my audio interface is working - when I do an audio mixdown to Wav or to Mp3, the files have their bites but no Wav or MP3 player can read them. Cubase 14 Pro Windows 11 Focusrite 18i8 I reinstalled CB 14 Pro but that didn’t help. Nothing is muted in my project. Could this be another memory issue. It all worked two days ago.

Hi,
can you send a screenshot of your mixdown dialog, please?
And a screenshot of a track with its routing, please.

That looks alright to me. Have you set the locators in the project window accordingly?

You have set bit depth to 32bit float. Most devices should be able to play that format back but maybe yours cannot. Try to export with 24bit, does that improve the situation?

That’s what I was thinking, too. I bounced something and tried with two old players including Windows Media Player. It worked. Who knows, maybe Alan’s players can’t handle it.

Of course I have been a professional arranger since 1968 with 40 years experience in technology. Just looking for something I might have missed or it’s a problem with CB 14 Pro

I have a recording studio and my computer is very pumped up I never had a problem like this before since Cubase 9

What players specifically?

Any simple player can play back that wave file like I said this has never happened before and I’m blaming it on CB 14 pro

That is correct neither one

You misunderstood me. What player do you use to play your resulting Wav or MP3 file in? Windows Media Player, Foobar, VLC, etc?

No offense, sometimes its the simple things.
Have you tried to reimport your mixdown in a project and have a look at it?

I have all of those readers none of them work I think what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna take 12 of my midi files that were made with an added instrumental track and render them to Audio that will certainly free up memory so I’m gonna do that right after dinner

Windows Legacy

If you want, you can PM me one of the MP3 files you exported and I would be happy to try it on my computer. Perhaps that would help narrow down the issue.

The problem is lying in the windows 11 computer and I will tackle it tomorrow morning

Thank you everybody

That’s protocol for me my problem lies in the Audio routing in my Windows 11 tower computer which I will take a look at after having breakfast with my crew at the club. I will let you all know what I have discovered.

So here was the problem and I fixed it. The Focusrite 18i8 drivers needed to be reinstalled. I have seen this before and hopefully a newer update will be available

Thank you all for your suggestions and time you put into your responses.
