Audio Monitoring Through Cubase

Forgive me if this is a repeat thread,
if there is another thread with the same issue, i am happy to continue this discussion there.

I am a beginner here and i need some advise,
I recently bought a fireface UCX, and i need to deactivate direct Monitoring.

When i do deactivate direct monitoring i cant hear anything, even though the audio is being routed through my DAW, i can even see the meters light up on the DAW tracks, but once i lower fader on TOTALMIX FX [RME audio software], i cannot hear anything at all.

I prefer to do all monitoring through my DAW and not direct, can anyone help?

I’m using Cuabse 7.5 on a MAC

You should of course not lower the faders of the totalmix output and playback channels
