Aint seen you on here in awhile (probably because I haven’t been here much lately lol). How you been?

My feature I’ve been waiting for that would make me jump straight to 11 is Atmos. Our Mac-based Dolby RMU allows me to stream Apple TV+/Music+ in 7.1.4 to the monitor controller over DVS through a Thunderbolt3 NIC adapter (main NIC is used by DAR for the RedNet PCIeR).
I’d love for Win11 to add that same ability, even if I have to buy a software license to do it. Windows wouldn’t limit me to using just those 2 apps. If ai could stream Disney+, HBOMax, Amazon Music, Prime Video, and NetFlix, that would allow me to schedule events where people could come to the studio to watch a movie on our 7.2.4 system, which would help expose more artists to Atmos on a ridiculously nice system like ours, which I think would lead to a boost in Atmos work. Apple TV just doesn’t have as good of a selection.

When we first built the room, I planned to buy a UHD4K BD-Rom drive and rip a couple movies to load into Nuendo and play to show off the system, but I realized that wouldn’t work for multiple reasons. I could get an AVR, but we have referencing covered without one, so $6k+ for a Dante-enabled Atmos reciever just to have an “open house” type of promotional event for a handful of people at a time wouldn’t be a wise business decision.
If Win11-Pro would add Atmos capabilities to system audio, that would be a must-have.

Yeah I hear you. It’s super-annoying that there aren’t (as far as I know) any native solutions for decoding / outputting Atmos channels in Windows. Best alternative I’ve seen so far for just integrating into a setup would be getting a receiver with XLR outputs, and then route that analog out through the DAW interface out to the speakers. Not ideal, but doable.

I have referencing covered and Id have to go with a Dante-enabled AVR to avoid affecting the sound, otherwise it would drive me nuts lol. It’d just be nice to be able to stream 7.1.4 content on the main PC.

What kind of test were you running to get 471 instances of SWAM instruments?
Using SWAM solo strings v3, I only came up to 60 in Nuendo and 65 instances in Reaper @ 128 buffer size (Presonus Quantum 2).
The test was with 9 streams of MIDI data- 32nd note scales and 8 moving CCs.

Doesnt SWAM run on GPU? Perhaps he didn’t realize thats what it was doing and you have a smaller GPU.

Not yet. The collaboration was announced 7 months ago, but there is no actual product as of today.
