Hi guys. After a lot of research on the internet I still haven’t found a solution to a problem it seems I’m not alone experiencing.
The problem is that sound is recorded just fine, the waveforms are there, but when playing, the sound sort of fades out into nothing for a second before returning. It’s not a latency issue.
Any ideas?

Check your installed plug-ins, please. Could be, some plug-in is in DEMO (Trial) mode. Some plug-ins developers do tricks like this.
I haven’t installed any plug-ins though, only the Cubase LE 8 that came with my Focusrite Studio Solo Bundle.
