I am very frustrated. I have installed Dorico last weekend and immediately started having serious audio issues with my computer. (All types and various apps. Any and all audio eventually has what sounds like digital feed back and eventually distortion) I have since uninstalled Dorico and I am still experiencing the eventual
digital distortion. I have literally not introduced anything into my new computer since Dorico and have no reason to think anything other than Dorico has caused my issues. I haven’t even started using Dorico because I have been trying to deal with my audio problems. I did attempt to convert my Finale files to xml and that has also been stymied. It’s supposed to convert my entire folder and it keeps getting hung up on various files. My Dorico experience thus far has been very poor. Can you help?
Welcome to the forum, @aarongayden, and sorry to hear about the troubles so far.
I have no idea how to solve this but typically the Steinberg team may ask you to post a Diagnostics file for them to examine.
In the program, go to Help > Create Diagnostics Report and attach the zip here.
Again, I have no idea if this would be useful to them in your case but it might save a post!
Just installing Dorico will not affect you existing audio settings.
You cannot blame Dorico for that.
Welcome to the forum, Aaron.
Dorico does install its own ASIO driver, the Steinberg Built-in ASIO Driver, which would be available for choice elsewhere in Windows, but it won’t choose it by default, so simply installing Dorico won’t do anything to the audio setup in your computer.
What kind of audio hardware do you have in your computer? Do you have a dedicated audio interface, or are you using a built-in sound chip? What steps have you taken so far to troubleshoot the distortion you’re hearing?
Sorry to hear about your problems. The most fundamental question is : are you on MacOS or Windows - and which version?
We really need the diagnostics data and your audio setup to say something more on your case @aarongayden . Thanks
