Audio processing overload when first opening 24bit/88.2k sessions in Cubase Pro 11

Hello and thanks for looking. I searched and didn’t see anyone else having this problem. I would appreciate any insight anyone might have. I wasn’t having this problem with Cubase Pro 10.5.

Anytime I open 24bit/88.2k sessions in Cubase Pro 11 for the first time, the audio processing meter will start jumping all over the place and max out. Doesn’t matter if Cubase was already open or not. Once this happens, the app response becomes sporadic and delayed. It doesn’t freeze, it just becomes heavily bogged down and unresponsive. I have to close the session (not Cubase), and when I reopen it, everything is fine from then on and I have no further issues opening any sessions until I close down and reopen the app again. It does not do it with 24bit/44.1k sessions.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

Increase your Audio Device Buffer Size, please.

Increasing my buffer size from 1024 to 2048 seems to have fixed it.

Thanks, Martin!
