HI All I cannot get audio to play on my version of Cubase AI Elements v9.0.0 PC wndows 10 having worked flawlessly for about 8 years. How can i reinstall or do something to get audio back again? Or do i have to upgrade/replace
What audio device and driver do you use?
HI Grim
I used to have three audio drivers from which to choose:
-
Generic audio driver -
Not installed on the system anymore, cant find it anywhere -
Realtek (R Audio) (seems to be the bog standard windows one) -
Reinstalled from the windows app store to no avail in Cubase
However all other things like spotify, itunes, youtube playback perfectly -
Tascam US16-08 -
Input / output 16 track recording and playback audio interface -
I can still record into it but cant hear any sound output.
Does that help? Is there a generic audio driver i can download from steinberg?
I tried downloading ASIO4ALL but it installed a piece of malwear as i did it so i removed it.
thankyou
Mike
The Tascam ASIO would be the best driver to use.
To be clear…with that driver, audio should be on the outs of the Tascam and not the pc speaker output…make sure speakers or headphones are connected to the tascam.
Also check that the correct outs are selected in the Cubase audio connections window.
ASIO4all does not install any Malware if you download from the official site.
But I would try to get the Tascam driver working first.
TASCAM driver doesn’t work nor does the realtek one.
Is there a generic Cubase audio driver i can download??
