I posted before about how I was considering a move to Mac from Windows, so I finally bit the bullet and got a base level M4 Air, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage, I installed Cubase and Reason on it and then installed Audiogridder to connect to my VSTs on my old device.
However, whenever I scan for the audiogridder plugin, it is apparently only appearing as 32 bit to Cubase and is being blocked. But everywhere I read up on this, I see that Audiogridder is 64 bit. So I’m lost. Why has Cubase blocked it? I understand that sometimes the plugins come in both 32 and 64 bit variants, but if that is the case, I can’t find the 64 bit ones. I’ve tried everything.
I’m using Cubase 10.5 Pro and I have downloaded the latest available Audiogridder from the website, version 1.2.0 (Stable), posted 08 March 2023, last updated 11 March 2023. I’m at my wit’s end. Please help
Have you ensured that the Audiogridder installer is for native Apple Silicon? If not, you’ll have to run Cubase in Rosetta mode. I’ve seen similar issues caused by mis-pairing server components on one platform/architecture with a different platform/architecture on the client (even though that really shouldn’t happen if developed properly).
Also, note that Cubase 10.5 Pro isn’t supported on Apple Silicon - according to the SB site support was for ver 11, and you’re running 15.5 (or so) by default on that guy. Hopefully running in Rosetta may help, but you may be in for additional issues if you plan on staying on 10.5 - I can’t speak to that, but maybe someone else is successfully running legacy version on MacOS/Apple Silicon.

Hey man, thanks for saving my bacon. It is my first time on Mac, so my understanding between the intel silicon and apple silicon stuff was minimal. The solution was actually removing the native apple silicon version of audiogridder and using the universal one instead. I thought that the compatible version of audiogridder was dependent on the hardware that you were installing onto, rather than the software that it had to use. All my programs are intel based for now. Thanks for that hint
