For some reason, when auditioning in the sample editor, I get 1) graphical artefacts like below (the blue horizontal lines - they stay as I go along), 2) the audition randomly starts at the wrong place .. Anyone experienced this?
Seems a few others had problems like this in the past,
Sample Editor audition not synched with wavwform - Cubase - Steinberg Forums
Audition tool in sample editor behaves wrong - Cubase - Steinberg Forums
… and here, Seriuos bug in audio sample editor - Cubase - Steinberg Forums
… so an issue since many versions it seems
As far as we know this happens only when the Control Room is activated.
Correspondence with Steinberg indicates that this doesn’t happen to everyone. The root cause is unknown but doesn’t seem to be connected to the preferences.
Click on my profile, I have a featured topic linked there.
Thanks Johnny! I don’t use the Control Room.. it’s not tragic, but still very bizarre and too bad that Steinberg hasn’t addressed it since years as it seems
Your Control Room is switched off but you have the issue with the wrong playback position when using the Speaker Tool? Please double check and confirm. This is important.
Yes, I never use control room. The project is 48kHz, I have ASIO Guard High.
Fun thing - after restarting the project, I cannot reproduce..

It’s one thing to use the CR, it is another whether it is switched on or off. So, it is really switched off?
Sorry for not being clear - the CR is switched off. I never switch it on
