Auto-Saves folder (Empty)?

What does the suffix “-(Empty)” mean on an auto-saved backup file in the auto-saves folder?

MyProject-380-(Empty).bak

Does it mean it’s a backup of a project that has no media or something? I was working on my template and it crashed. Want to recover from backup.

I’ve never seen that before. But .bak files are actually just .cpr files with the extension changed. So you can safely change the extension and open with Cubase to see what’s in it. Although I’d use a copy.

Thanks. The template opened fine from the .bak file. I’m guessing it’s as I described - the lack of any attached media. Can’t imagine what else.
