I’m using the Score Editor in the Lower Zone of the Project window, and I noticed that the score does not follow playback vertically.
When the playback cursor reaches the end of the visible area, the view does recenter when scrolling to the next bars or systems.
This makes it impossible to follow the score in real time, even for a simple piano track.
Is this a known limitation of the Lower Zone Score Editor, or is there any option/workaround to force the score to stay centered on a specific staff?
Even with a single piano staff, the issue is still there. No matter which zoom level is selected, the view does not recenter when reaching the end of the live on the right.
It’s very annoying for many purposes.
Here is a screenshot of the issue (and yes, there is a chord track).
It scrolls and returns with the play cursor here in Cubase pro 15.0.10. I can’t remember what it was like in Cubase 14. Maybe someone knows if it was an issue in v.14?
The only differences from my Cubase 15 that I can see in the picture is:
I see the same behavior in C15. The only “workaround” I see is to size the lower zone such that one staff system is shown. Otherwise, I just keep a finger on the Page Down key.
btw, @Buer you are in Page View, and @Martyprod is in Fill view.
Hi Buer and Steve, yes, Steve is right. when i’m filming with OBS cubase, i’m unfortunatly scrolling manually to the next staff (i’m using this for helping syncing the music once in a video editor with Sibelius export etc… long story)..
I don’t understand why this has never been fixed or nobody at Steinberg noticed this issue it’s so painful to use, it’s almost totally unuseable for any purpose.. like recording or re-recording etc :(.
Yes, it would be nice if that were refined so that during playback, when the cursor moves to a next staff system that entire staff system (all staves in it) becomes visible.
I see it now. I was just lucky with the window and zoom level. If one staff is visible of the full score, it will not center vertically. Only way to asure view is to minimize the view so evrything is visible in fill view.
yes, and even in full view, these issue are there. if the tune is long enough so it’s not fitting a whole page,. at some point, the page move and doesn’t center (at least on cubase 14), without moving the mouse or the scroll wheel, no luck
