Automatic position of fermatas in a Grand Staff

When was the update again…

Is there any news on this? I just started using Dorico this year, and it’s mostly very good, but the way fermatas are applied to multiple instruments (or even multiple lines of a staff) means I can’t do a lot of my engraving directly in Dorico (without creating images of fermatas and then attaching them to the score that way).
Has anyone figured out any workarounds that are better?

Welcome to the forum @lanematthewc ! If you want completely independent fermatas (so showing a fermata only on one staff at a rhythmic position), you could create a custom playing technique that contains the fermata glyph, and input that wherever you like.

Is there an option just to change whether fermatas on grand staves are applied to both staves without using custom playing techniques, or could an option be added? The playing technique method works all right, but if I have a lot of instruments and want the grand staves to only contain one fermata, then every fermata has to be a playing technique applied to every staff separately as far as I know.
