Automatic respelling issue with quarter tones (with non-transposing instruments !)

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a very large file (2992 bars), originally created in version 5.1.7 and now opened in 5.1.81 of Dorico.

The oboe (a non-transposing instrument) is written in the full score with an F quarter-law. However, in the extracted part, it appears as an F flat quarter-high.

Does anyone know why this is happening ? And more importantly, how to fix this behavior across the entire document ? It occurs throughout the piece, including in the cello and violin parts.

Thank you !

Welcome to the forum, @fabricegoubinfr!

I’m not sure because I never use quarter tones, but what’s happening if you select the notes in the score, then Write (menu) > Respell > Propagate Note Spelling?

You can try with a few notes and see if it works. If it does, you can select all in your score and apply the feature.

Alternatively, if it doesn’t work, you can try to select the notes in the part, and Write > Respell > Respell using note name above (the shortcut on French keyboards for this is Alt/Opt+= in case you’re French!)

Thanks charles_piano for your warm welcome and your helpful advice.

You put me on the right track and saved me many long and difficult hours of work:
Write > Select > Write Menu > Respell > Reset Note Spelling in All Layouts

Now everything is clean.

Many thanks
