Automating Layer Transpose / Octave

Dear Community,

I just can’t seem to figure out how to automate the Transpose or Octave settings of a Layer in VST Live Pro 2. Is there any trick to make this work?

Unfortunately, I also can’t automate the transpose parameter of the instrument itself (in my case, Kontakt).

If this really isn’t possible, I guess the only workaround would be to load two identical layers, transpose one of them, and then automate the volume between the two. But that feels a bit clunky and resource-heavy.

Maybe someone has a smarter solution or workaround?

Thanks so much in advance!

.. oh, that’s a missing parameter. Sorry, we’ll add it soon.

… really? How can I reproduce it? Load Kontakt, and then? Is the parameter already available or do I need to load an instrument in Kontakt?

See you,
Michael.

Thank you for replying, Michael.

In Kontakt, there is a tune parameter for each instrument loaded.

The automation track that’s linked to this Kontakt instance won’t get data when changing this parameter.

In the mapping section of the automation layer, there are pitch and a tune parameters, which seem to be linked to the instrument loaded in Kontakt.

Tweaking these parameters in the automation track, however, does nothing.

I hope that helps.

… those missing parameters have been added. Please re-try with the next Pre-Release (2.2.18). Please give it a try and let us know your experience.

… we’ll check. Thank you for your detailed description. That helps a lot,
Michael
