hey all, i was wondering if theres a way to automate pasting plugin chains.
for my use, i insert songs in the montage, and then want each clip to have the same very basic starter plugin chain, basically perception AB and an EQ.
a bonus would be if i could get WL to incrementally increase the pre counter in perception AB, but now i feel like im asking the moon.
is this something that the scripting function might be able to handle?
thanks!
This is currently not possible, but it is a good idea.
The function “Load Plug-in Chain” should in fact work as “Load Plug-in Chain in all Selected Clips”. I note the idea
Using Keyboard Maestro I have created something similar to this.
Once I have dialed in a Clip Effects chain on one song within an audio montage, with the Inspector visible and set to show the Clip Effects chain, and just the one clip selected, I can press F9 and it:
Copies the Clip Effects Chain
Inverts my clip selection to select all other clips and un-selects the previously selected clip
Pastes the Clip Effects Chain to all selected clips.
See attached. Some of the shortcuts within WaveLab may be ones that I manually programmed and not the default shortcuts but with a little work and Keyboard Maestro, it’s possible to easily copy the Clip Effects of one clip, and paste it to all other clips in one command.
amazing
big thanks @PG1 , i love how you continue to incorporate user ideas into new builds. one of the many reasons i love working in WL.
and thanks @Justin_Perkins i keep hearing incredible things about keyboard maestro. my understanding of it is very limited, something to research more for sure. hell, maybe with enough digging i’d find a way to assign perception AB states to a keystroke, something of a white wale for me that im sure this forum is sick and tired of hearing me go on about.
anyways, thank you both. v awesome support you all provide here.

I honestly have very basic and limited coding/scripting skills but Keyboard Maestro is very easy to program.
I basically use it to stack or combine shortcuts so instead of doing certain things in 3 or 4 key commands, you can make a Keyboard Maestro shortcut that allows you to do many things with the press of one button.
The great part is that these Keyboard Maestro shortcuts can be global (always active), or just active for certain apps such as WaveLab.
