The automation lane would be greatly improved if recording automation created AUTOMATION CLIPS. We should be able to use automation clips EXACTLY like we do MIDI clips: cut, copy, drag out loop, split, glue, ghost copy, etc.
Double clicking an automation clip should open an editor that is remarkably similar to the MIDI editor, but with the bezier controls of the old automation lane included as well.
This would unify automation editing experience.
