Automation Curve Grabber From Audio

See attachment. I finally realised that instead of Bezier Curves, what I -really- have wanted all along was something much simpler… a ‘curve grabber’.

Put simply, I want to be able to select a range of audio and then Cubase would automatically create a set of points in an Automation property which follows the ‘curve’ of the volume profile of the selected audio. I can then tweak it as needed. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be in the ball park. It just needs to get me started. Even if it’s way off? If it follows the -general- curve? It would be a HUGE time saver.

I would often use an INVERT OPTION, which is shown in the use case of the attachment. I often use the volume automation to gain ride… ie. to act as a ‘manual compressor’. Well, with this feature (and the invert option), it would become a one-button affair!

Now, I’m calling this feature a ‘Volume Curve Grabber’. But it could just as easily be assigned to -any- automation property.

I’m absolutely stunned that no one else finds this useful. Oh well.
