Automation does not punch out

The Problem is simple. If i’m doing an automation pass it does not punch out unless there is a node AFTER the desired editing area. Im not sure if this is a bug on my end or if this is a fault in Cubase.

I searched for a solution for a long time now but i dont find one. Except manually placing a node EVERY TIME i edit a new automation lane witch is just unacceptable.

Nuendo allegedly doesnt have this fault.

Maybe this gets some attention if you give this topic a vote because this issue is very frustrating.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Where should the value go, if there is no node after, please?

Well, the user manual states that if you punch out the control returns to the previously set value. My problem is that this ONLY happens if there is a node after the area i want to write automation. If there isnt a node it stays at the value that the fader is when i release it.

Without a node after:

With node after:

What happens in the first clip also happens if you place a node before the automation pass.

Hi,

This is not a bug. There is difference between Cubase and Nuendo.

How is it that the “Touch” and “Auto Latch” setting doesnt work if there is no node after the automation pass a intended feature?

It doesnt behave like it says in the user manual for cubase.
And i think this IS a bug because it makes the automation controls absolutely redundant if there is no node. I dont think that this redundancy is intended (Also in Nuendo even if it is another application sets the perfect example how it should work. I dont really know if it works in Nuendo beacause I didnt test that myself. I read that in a post online.)

What happens in the first clip should according to the user manual only happen if the fill option “to End” is switched on.

By the way: I now realised that the title of this threat doesnt accurately represent the given issue and i dont think i can change it. Sorry for that.

Can you let us know your settings for automation? Maybe a screenshot of the Automation Panel would be the easiest way to do that. Make screenshots for “Operation” and for “Settings”, please.

Yes of course.
