When doing automation for REVERB SNARE in the attached screenshot, the automation lane name / dropdown is only called “Level”, which makes it hard to check what is being automated, especially if several lanes. This is AFTER I did an automation run. It works, but the name of whatever I automated is always “Level”.
The dropdown shows lots of options, which also makes no sense. At least it should default to the CURRENTLY automated parameter, which is this case is Reverb Snare.
Usually the name of the parameter is taken directly from the plugin. So my guess it would be that there is a parameter in the plugin called “Level”.
I just see in your screenshot that you are automating the send level to an FX track… so, yeah, that item is just called “Level”. The name of the track is not included in the name field.
The automation items in the pop up menu are just the standard items of any channel in Cubase. Personally I don’t find the list helpful (and apparently neither do you) but I just ignore it.
EDIT: After testing more plugins, I’ve found some on my system, where this issue also exists. So as @Johnny_Moneto already said, it seems plugin specific. I was just lucky that the plugins I use most often seem to display ok.
I’m seeing additional info in that area:
insert slot - plugin name - parameter name
EDIT: I may have remembered wrong. Or maybe it was a setting in a plugin, rather than in Cubase? I think it maybe a setting somewhere.
However I don’t remember where I originally set it and haven’t yet found it again.
Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. To clarify further my setup is Macbook Pro Sonoma w Cubase 14 Pro. I will check whether this is related to 3rd party plugins by testing with a stock Cubase.
