Automation on and off compressor

Is it possible to use automation for “on” and “off” compressor?
Doesn’t work the usual way.
Cubase 13.

I don’t think that on/off can be automated, but I’m sure that bypass is. Doesn’t this cover your use case?

Oh, I don’t know, works as expected here (13.0.41).
