Any news if this will be re-designed?
Introducing this window was a great move of Steinberg, but it has been much too oversized.
It would be great if we could personalize the view.
And hopefully there is somewhere a permanent indicator, which shows me, if automation data currently follows edit, or not.
There is a long list of improvement for the Automation functions and functionality in general, which I think we will see within 6.x versions.

for the next updates we don’t have a focus on the Automation Panel. Nevertheless we can think about making it more flexible.
