Automation track presets, possible?

Hi there,

Is it possible to make different track presets and then use automation?
I want to change the sound of a instrumenttrack (drums with many several tracks) and I don’t want to change every parameter of the insert effects and EQ.
I was hoping I could enable the Write button and then (while playing) change the trackpresets but this only effects the EQ and not the inserts.

Is there anyone who can help me out?

In some threads is mentioned that you can also automate the AB-switch on the effects to save time. But even that won’t work with me. Does anybody have an idear what went wrong?
