Yes, nothing to worry about as long as you don’t use QuickTime (the application not the container).
The main drawback will be that OSX probably won’t be able to preview the files in finder. This in itself is a major bummer of course. Also users need to use other means of converting media files then using Quicktime (which is pretty bad at that specific task anyway).
