Each time I enter a slur, Dorico goes into note entry mode. How can I avoid this? I don’t want to have to hit Escape each time.

How are you entering the slur? If you select several notes and hit S or use the button in the left panel, you shouldn’t go into Note Input mode.

Are you using the “Finale” method.. double click and drag? If so the double click would activate note entry. As Ash says highlight the notes and press “s”
