Babylonwaves expressionmap problem

Hi everyone,
I need some help..:woozy_face:

I bought the expressionmaps for Cubase from Babylonwaves, but none of them loads up in the expressionmap editor. Nothing happens..
I tried Cremona quartet (Kontakt) and BBC core violins.

Anyone else having this problem ?

What do you mean by this?

When you attempt to load an Expression Map from a file, what occurs?

Nothing. The map is still empty..

That implies that the files don’t actually have expression map data in them.

Or, are you using Pro, because that’s the only one that supports Expression Maps. See the Composing section.

Have you successfully loaded Expression Maps in the past?

Well - the header says

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!-- Art Conductor Collections for Cubase Expression Maps 1.0b -->
<!-- Copyright Babylonwaves - www.babylonwaves.com 2025-10-02 17:35:39 +0000-->
<!-- Content: 11.8.1 Engine: 6.9.2 -->
<InstrumentMap>
<string name="name" value="NICRQ Stradivari Violin Attribute" wide="true"/>

Yes.

Yes, many times, and I actually made several myself.

Did some digging.. - the maps work in Cubase 13, but not in CB 14..

Did something change regarding ex maps from CB 13 to CB 14 ?

I wouldn’t be aware of any changes in this area.
Can you state which version of Cubase 14 you use (Help → About)?
Furtheremore, did you contact the publisher of the expression maps? Can they load them in C14?

Latest - 14.032.

Yes. They say it works. I don’t know if they have 14.0.32 though..

ok - I found out why it didn’t work. This path is too long:
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Espressionmaps\Cubase exmaps\Art-Conductor-Cubase-Latest\Art Conductor Cubase\Art Conductor Cubase\Spitfire Audio\BBC Symphony Orchestra Core\Strings
If I copy the exmap to another shorter location it works!
Just strange that it worked in CB 13..
All is well :slight_smile:
