Backing upall my settings and presets

Cubase 12:

If I backup the preferences in “C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg” and “C:\Users[UserName]\Documents\Steinberg” while Cubase is running, will all my setting and preset etc get backed up properly or should I exit cubase before backing up my settings. I’m mainly concerned about preferences, key commands and Project template. My projects are taken care of.

The reason I am asking is because I read somewhere that some preferences are only changed after you exit Cubase.

Thank You

Exit first.

Many of the prefs and settings are saved / written on exit.

As far as preferences and key commands are concerned: I duplicate my current profile during the session and save it under a new name. That way all the latest preferences and key commands are saved and updated in the new profile. It worked just fine when I checked. Did I miss something? I am happy to stand corrected;)

Yes that could work but there’s a lot missing there tbh. Certain items aren’t backed up as part of a profile.

But if it works for you that’s ok.

Ideally just close the application and completely backup the appdata folder and the Steinberg Cubase/Nuendo docs folder.

There are some more bits too. (Posting from phone). I’ll update when in studio.

Cheers.
