Good day to all. According to the key commands list (macOS, German keyboard) the backslash (produced by pressing shift-opt-7) should, in write mode with a note selected, produce a tenuto marking on that note. It doesn’t work for me–it has no effect.
“Reset to factory” in preferences didn’t help. In a text editor, shift-opt-7 produces a backslash so the key combination appears to be correct. Other key commands work as listed. It’s obviously not a serious problem as I can use the mouse and the appropriate button to produce the marking but it is a bit annoying. Does anyone else have this problem?
I have a custom keyboard from KB Covers designed for Dorico and it has the same problem. When I try (shift) 3 I get the correct tenuto mark above the note I have selected. Will this error be corrected in the next release of Dorico?
This somehow has to do with US vs. UK keyboard layouts (on a UK keyboard the # is located near where the \ is on a US keyboard). I gather you’re on a US keyboard but somehow Dorico defaulted to the UK shortcut for tenuto. You can change the key command in Preferences as @jesele shows above.
