Backup is cumbersome

I prepare my music on my home Cubasis iPad Pro, then copy over finished songs via USB stick to my stage iPad. But over time I make lots of changes on stage to songs, usually mixes but also instruments. The only way to keep my home Cubasis kind of up to date is to copy the Projects folder from the stage iPad to an external 1TB drive, then copy that to the home iPad Pro.

It’s really inefficient, since there are probably 60% or more songs that don’t get changed at all. But I can’t really keep track of which songs I’ve made quick mix edits to on stage. So I copy them all (over 300). I would love to think of a better way.

Okay, rant over. Any ideas welcome. Maybe I’m missing something easy.

Hi @DCinFlorida

Cubasis allows to create duplicates of projects. Please give it a try if this could be a possible workflow for you to create alternate versions of projects.

These are the steps:

  • Go to “Media/Projects”.
  • Select a project.
  • Tap “Duplicate”.

In the MediaBay, you can create dedicated folders to help organise your files. You can also use the Apple Files app, which lets you view your Cubasis files as well.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Lars
