Wondering if there is a legitimate way to do the double bar line that I just faked:
Hi @John_Ruggero you can use local meters (using alt before you apply the particular meter to the single staff, see below for the manual links), and then hide the meters that I selected in this example.

To have the barline joined after the multiple different meters check the option in Engrave Options/Barlines/Barlines joins ->Join Coincident barlines in polymetric music:
I tried also with a 6:2h tuplets for the cadenza staff/bar, but the note spacing will be tighter
(sorry for the many edits, but I found the Engraving option for the barlines later…)
To input independent time signatures look at point 6 on both this manual sites:

Thanks so much. @Christian_R for taking the time to explain that. The missing link was the “Bracket and Barline Change” capability that I didn’t know about. I will investigate tomorrow.
