Bar number Formatting

I am trying to change the placement of barline numbers globally (and individual parts). The settings were not changing any of the placement when I was using the Bravura font - changed to Academico font and then the settings took effect.
It seems like there are some issues with the Bravura font - but that is what the program defaulted to when I installed it.

My Full score is not showing barlines like my other parts - even though it is formatted to act the same way - trying to get the bar numbers that show up in write mode to be a bit larger so that I can see better.

Any suggestions?

I think what you’ve highlighted there are the guide bar numbers, which help you keep your bearings but aren’t printed.

Switch to page view to see your formatted bar numbers.

You can change the frequency, position etc of bar numbers in each layout in Layout Options, where you can also change which paragraph style each layout uses for bar numbers (eg in a film-style template, you might want big and bold bar numbers on every bar in the score, but italic bar numbers once per system or small plain bar numbers on every barline in the parts).

You can then edit those paragraph styles’ formatting in the Paragraph Styles dialog.

Is there a way to make the guide bar numbers larger?

I don’t believe so. There’s a paragraph style for the player/instrument names, but not for bar numbers.

OK - thank you.

I ended up adding barlines for every bar in my score only so I can see where I am at. They won’t show up in my parts.

Showing bar numbers every bar is a per-layout setting. Meaning, if you only had the score selected on the right when you changed this option, then you only changed it for the score.

Go back to the Layout Options dialog, and select all the parts on the right, then you can show bar numbers on every bar in all the parts in one go.

Yes - this is my workaround in my score for not being able to see the guide bar numbers large enough.
