Bar number showing on multi-bar rest with range

Hi there!

I’m having the following issue. The bar number (bar#5) is showing up on a multi-rest next to the range. I want to get rid of it since I have the range and don’t need the extra “5”. In the layout options for that part I have the “Show first bar number when shown every bar” unselected, but it’s still showing up.

Anyone had this issue before?

Looking at the screenshot, I assume it is because, for some reason, you are starting the part with bar 5. So it is a bar number change, which can be hidden in Properties.

Hi @videlatomas, three days ago was a similar issue described:

I’m sure this has to be a bug or an oversight. If you have the setting in Engraving Options set to hide normal bar numbers when displaying a multimeasure rest bar number range, it works as advertised for regular bar numbers, but when you have bar numbers with subordinates it does not hide them. You can see in this picture that the 12 and the 17 are not showing in the bottom left corner (correctly), but the 15A and the 15C are showing in the bottom left corner. They definitely shouldn’t be. Ah, got it. That fixed it.
I did notice though that if it starts with bar 1 it still shows up.

To clarify: If it starts with a change to 1, yes, it still shows. But if you delete the bar number change, then it should not show the 1, by default.

It’s not a “bug” unless it’s not behaving as designed, and that is for the team to say.

I get what you mean but why would it be purposely designed to show a rogue bar number?
