Really simple question that I can’t seem to resolve: Attached is a screenshot of a simple 4-bar drum pattern. I’d like to have the next four bars repeat that pattern. From reading the documentation, it seems like the process is simple and straightforward:
Select the following 4 (empty) bars
Shift-R for Repeats popover
Enter %4
You can see the result I get. What obvious wrinkle am I missing?
(I thought that maybe I could drag the R-most handle on the bar repeat region to extend it, but that doesn’t seem to work.)

Just as I thought: a stupid mistake. I’m not sure how bar 7 ended up not being in 4/4, but I suspect it was because Iw as working on another short example to show how to deal with the final measure in a section with a pick-up measure.
Irrespective, as always, thanks so much for the prompt and illuminating response! I must admit I probably wouldn’t have thought of the %4 not working because Dorico was smart enough to know that the command made no sense given the extra beats one of the measures.
One thing to add: As a general rule of thumb, I think you’ll find that many seemingly odd things in Dorico are easier to figure out with signposts visible.
And a note for the devs: I do think it would be nice if the signpost for time signatures included info about any pickup.
