Any suggestions to make this look better? The bar rest symbol should not collide with the time signature! See enclosed screen shot.
Perhaps consider using a 3/4 + 4/4 alternating time signature instead?
Thanks for the suggestion That would work. Is there an easy way to convert my original score from alternating 3/4 and 4/4 as in the screen shot to 3/4+4/4?
Just mentioning—
For us copyists who started with pen and ink and now do it digitally, spanning a time change with a 2 bar repeat is never done. Just enter slashes like the first 2 measures. Your picture is a new one on me—I’ve never seen that done before and I’ve been at it for 35 years.
You can delete all of the subsequent 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures, then create the alternating time signature at the start of the section using the Shift+M popover by typing “3/4 + 4/4” and hitting Return.
Well, there’s a first for everything. We all have our quirks and wishes when it comes to writing sheet music, I guess. I solved this by using an alternate time signature as suggested above. Problem solved!
