line.dorico (1.3 MB)
I set the thin barline thickness to 0.16 and the line thickness to 0.16 as well, but it still doesn’t align properly.
It doesn’t line up perfectly and slightly overflows on both sides.
What should I do?

This might be a display issue.
If I select your line, it looks like this:
If I deselect the line, it looks like this (one can still see a little step):
If I export to .pdf it looks like this (the step is gone, it looks smooth):
Have you tried to actually print to paper?
It’s different.
Is there a way to keep the angle fixed when creating a vertical line so it doesn’t skew?
I don’t understand your reply.
Have you printed your example to paper?
What is your intended goal with using a line to mimic a barline?
Are you trying to get barline joins at the end of the system? Are you trying to indicate co-ordination between staves?
There might be an easier way than manually positioning lines.
I want the barline to join at the end of the system. In the score, there are places with vocal brackets and places without them, so I have to create them manually where they are missing, and that’s why I’m asking.
Perhaps try asking first how to get barline joins at the ends of systems, before manually adding lines! Because this is Dorico-land, and in most cases, there’s an option for that…
Maybe not in this one! At least I (and some other users) didn’t find it (if @k.k is speaking about the same thing, which I guess.)
