Batch export via Cycle Markers not working in 14?

Has anyone tried exporting via Cycle Markers under Export Range in Nuendo 14 (Win)? I can’t get it to work. I select all my markers, hit Export, and nothing happens. The export dialog goes away, but then nothing ever happens.

Opened the same project in Nuendo 13 and it works as expected…

*UPDATE-SOLVED (Cubase 14-hope it works for you as well)

Try this:
I created a new marker track in the project and then at the export dialogue (above the cycle markers) you can find a drop down menu where you choose this new marker track (wich should contain all your cycle markers).

This worked for me, hope it helps you as well.

Ah, interesting find. That predictably does work in Nuendo too – thanks.

I’m still considering this a bug; If it’s a new behavior and it’s now a requirement that we must have a marker track, it’s certainly not explained very well in the manual. Creating cycle markers without a track is still allowed (they go to some place just called ‘Markers’ according to the dialog) and the fact they show up in the export dialog is misleading, if that is the case.

Hi @ManChicken, can you give an indication how the markers in your project have been created?

Replication steps:

  1. Create a new project
  2. Add an audio track and throw some audio on it… or don’t
  3. Open the Marker window (Ctrl-M) and create some cycle marker ranges
  4. Go to File > Export > Audio Mixdown, switch to the Cycle Markers tab, and turn on any/some/all of the cycle markers to export.
  5. Setup whatever export format/filename/path desires, and then click Export Audio
  6. The mixdown window closes, but then nothing happens; no progress dialog appears, and no files are created.

Per #3 I was setting the left and right locators around some audio, then clicking the ‘Add Cycle Marker’ button in the Marker window to add the range and give it a name.

Thank you for the detailed steps. This has been confirmed and is indeed a bug, I will have a look at it.

Thanks Jendrik!

Along with this I’m finding that in the Export window N14 no longer has any memory of the cycle markers exported previously – you now have to make those selections every time you do an export - Previously (N13) would maintain selected markers - or at least the linear order - now it adds additional steps to do an export by requiring re-selecting cycle markers – this is dumb
