I am trying to override just the string section with BBCSO discover and noticed few really bizarre things happening. First is NP when loading always loads my bassoon and string patches with nylon guitar? BBC discover is not recognized in Library/Audio/plugins folder. Finally, I tried to create a new editable playback template to include NP and BBCSO strings, and then went into End Point set up in dorico to change their respective expression maps to BBCSO. Is that the correct procedure given that the original patches were recognized?
I would create a specific Endpoint for your BBCSO strings (create a file with just those instruments and the correct settings for BBCSO and save the Endpoint). Use that as the basis for the new Playback Template and add NP as the fall back.
BBCSO discover in not recognized in dorico even after I manually places the BBCSO files into âlibraryâ âpluginsâ folder on my my mac, not sure why that is. The only thing I can do is change expression maps inside the âend point configurationâ, but that wonât work if it cannot find the patch.
IIRC, Spitfire has released an update yesterday (repair the files) and John Barron has released an update yo its playback template to solve these issues (yesterday too).
Thanks for your patience, Marc. Now I see. I had to go to this site linked from âarticleâ on the right
Itâs been a while since I installed these ptâs: I dragged BBCSO Core.dorico_pt onto the Dorico hub and it updated the file, playbacktemplatespec.xml in ~/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6/PlaybackTemplateSpecs/BBCSO Core.
