I’m gonna start posting more small-but-big things that are stumbling blocks for fast workflow in Cubase. I hope people respond and support stuff like this, because it makes a difference in work speed and efficiency in a modern DAW. I feel like those who might not know about these little everyday things in other DAWs might not get what a difference they can make.
For this one: We need to be able to move multiple automation lane data that we select, at once. Let’s say you have volume, pan, filter frequency automation and you select their data in all three lanes at once. Try to drag them left or right, and you’ll see that you can’t move them together.
Hi,
Use the Range Selection tool, then you can move/copy multiple automation tracks data at once.
With the Combine Selection Tool option enabled, you even don’t have to switch between the Object Selection- and Range Selection Tool manually.
Thank you Martin, this is great – I feel kind of dumb, hahaha. For years I assumed it couldn’t be done since other multiple selections can be done without needing the range tool. The multi-tool can get in the way for me personally, so I don’t use it so much, but this is great to know.
Is there a reason it was designed to also not be able to move them by using the pointer tool, like we can with other things?
