Beam grouping in 5/4

So here’s a question - I like the way the beaming in 4/4 works - group eighth notes as 4 when it looks correct, break up it by beat when it doesn’t.

And as you can see, the syncopation is broken up by beat which makes it readable. All good.

But now in 5/4 I get this:

I don’t mind the grouping of eighth notes and I know I can change them by setting the meter to [2+3]/4. But why does Dorico not break up my syncopation by beat as is did in 4/4? I don’t want to use the meter [1+1+1+1+1]/4 or my other instruments will lose the grouping of even eighths. So I am forced to edit the figure by selecting each beat and using the beam together keystroke - time consuming!

Can the programming that allows 4/4 to parse beaming correctly for syncopations apply to more complex meters as well?

Would a “Local Time Signature” work for you? You can just set it for the one staff (or each one – even for a brief section) where you need it. Simply end the popover with alt-enter instead of enter.
