Beam grouping in odd meters

Hello, I am trying to write something in 9/4 and I’m not happy with note groupings. I want the groupings to reset on every bar, so that it is easy for players to read. I really dislike consecutive dotted rhythms crossing beat lines.

You’ll get this with [1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1]/4 Is this what you want? You can try different combinations.

is that with shift M? like shift m-> 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1

Yes, in the popover (Shift+M), type [1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1]/4 (including the brackets)

I still find this command works some of the time, across projects. I’m trying to fix bar three so that beat three ties to beat four, instead of using dots

In Notation Options > Note Grouping > Rhythm Dots, set this value to 1.

Otherwise doable with Force Duration if you don’t want it as a general option for this flow.
