Hello, I hope video will work.
I want all beams in this bar to be the same size, but when I tie the first note (which is normal size) to the second (which is cue size) it changes the size of beam in the connected group of notes.
The notehead size of the first sixteenth note also jumps back to 100% when adding the tie. Dorico sees a chain of tied notes as one single note and doesn’t allow individual notes in a tie chain to have e.g. separate notehead properties (there was a topic recently about an X notehead on an eighth note changing when a tie was applied). Because the sixteenths are all beamed together, the entire beam is affected as well.
I’m not at my Dorico machine to check, but the solution to that other topic might also be helpful in your case (i.e. either try if you can change the properties in Engrave mode, or work with different voices).
You could change the voice of the 1st beat’s chord, for example:
Edit: that’s already what @Zalde was suggesting!
Thank a lot for response, I 'll check it out…
For now I’ve solved it with adding another secondary beam between the two groups of notes, so now they are at least all the same size…
Problem still is that I 've solved one bar, but it is inconsistend with the rest of the piece, where I use the cue scale for similar situations.
WOW thanx. It looks, thats IT.
I’ll try it
Aaand that’s the solution!
Thanks a lot!
