I know why Dorico does this ‘by default’ to avoid confusing 3/4 with 6/8, but there are plenty of instances in which it would be preferable to notate it this way.

I’m aware of the different beaming conventions for 3/4 and 6/8 but three consecutive eighths in 3/4 nevertheless get beamed together in a lot of repertoire and there should be a setting for it. The settings in Notation Preferences look as though they should produce the desired result. I’m aware of the [3]/4 function but unfortunately it beams together all values shorter than a quarter, which is definitely not desirable.
