Beaming, unbeaming with letter command

Is there any shortcut for beaming or unbeaming notes? Is the only way to enter edit menu, notation, etc?

I don’t think so. But you can create one in Preferences > Key Commands! I have.

You can create your own key command for Beam together and Make unbeamed.
Else you may find the right-click>beaming menu reasonably quick

I assigned B for beaming and C for unbeaming (cutting beams). I find it quite useful.

Thanks! Again a great help:) I assigned B for beaming too, and ĂŤ for unbeaming cos this was the first letter not used for anything else when I explored:)))

The one key command you’ve assigned is quicker, but for other things don’t forget about the Jump bar. In this case, press “J” then enter “spb” or “bt” to bring up the respective split beam or beam together options. You can also create shortcuts for Jump bar items. (I think there are things you can do in the jump bar that can’t be assigned regular key commands).
