I like to use Beat Designer to create basic beats for song sections, then write them to a MIDI track for fills, stops, and miscellaneous random variation.
I’ve been unable to find a way to route the MIDI output of Beat Designer to a MIDI track other than literally sending it physically out of the computer then back in, which is ridiculous, but works. Is there a non-ridiculous way to do this? (Do they really expect Beat Designer to be used exclusively as an 80’s drum machine?)
There are quite a few ways to do it. I personally like the drag and drop route. Down at the bottom of Beat Designer there are the “banks” that look like notes on a keyboard, which you can literally drag onto the project window, to a specific bar or measure. Theres also the drop down menu (top left of BD) that offers to fill the loop locators, as well as just insert the bank as a chunk.
