Beatles Song

Note: Sorry-- I deleted the Link.
Don’t want to get Paul and Ringo upset.
I was just having fun with a Sgt. Pepper song.
Never intended to make $$$$$ with the song
or put it on EYE TUNES.
Course maybe I’ll do George Harrisons
SUE ME SUE YOU BLUES – NEXT

Jack

PS: Maybe in the rules here you should emphazise
Originals and Covers with Permission only and say it this way.

Sorry

Jack :open_mouth: :astonished:

You’re a brave man takin’ on the Beatles

Not bad…BUT overall the mix sounded quite brash to me… generally lacking warmth. Probably needs more attention to the bottom end… bass, kick etc. Drums somewhat understated. AND the backing vocals… they really need to be tuned IMO. They’re just a little TOO out of tune - even for ‘rock n roll’ acceptability.

Otherwise, a pretty good effort! :sunglasses:

Agreed with everything Ian said, good effort

Thanks Guys: Where would anyone be without " A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS"

Say – I’m working on those backup vocals with variaudio, but when it comes to 1st rate mixing
and Mastering I’m still Lacking. Maybe i’ve been standing next to to many drummers ride cymbles.
I’ll put another mix up in a while.

In the mean time here’s a Spectrum Analysis of the song.

Jack

Did you get permission to cover the song?

Easiest way I’ve found to license a cover is via Limelight:
http://www.songclearance.com/

:sunglasses:

Thanks Sherz: But I was just messin around.
I was just thinking of all the back royalty’s
I would owe for the past 40 years playing Cover songs LIVE,
on tape, vinyl, CD, DVD, etc. There’s to many
hungrey trial lawyers out there. :frowning:

Jack

PS: I did a remix of “Getting Better”
and tuned the backing vocals I think.
Send me a private message and I’ll give ya the link
or just go to soundcloud and do a search for GT MAN

Thanks :sunglasses:

Jack,

Love your ‘When my Guitar Gentle Weeps’. Great guitar work!

Could be right about too many lawyers, but I think in this case it’s the hungry musicians. When you play live, you are ok to play covers as long as the venue is paying its dues to the royalty agencies, which then distribute back to the musicians.

Thanks Dave: Yea George Harrison wrote a great one, didn’t he. Fun song to play live also.
The WHITE ALBUM is one of the classics.
The Guitar setting I used was direct with the VST amp rack
preset “plexi 5 solo” with my Strat. Eric Clapton used a Marshall
with a 68 Les Paul http://home.comcast.net/~halljack505/pwpimages/VST%20%20Amp%20rack.PNG

Jack

Ps: I hope it’s alright to “Talk” about a cover song without Permission

The Sticky at the top of the forum isn’t enough? :unamused:

Give me a Beer Somebody :astonished: :unamused:

Jack :imp: :imp: :imp:

PS: Lets see — what’s Protools web address Hmmmmmm

don’t mind him, his nose is brown and his head is flat. we try to keep him in the beginner forum but once in a while he finds his way over here with the same “I’m smart, I love steinyberg” shtick!!

Guarantee people wouldn’t be so brave face to face.

and judging by your post count thats not something you know alot about

Life’s too short to waste time on thieves.

I wonder if Steinberg is pulling “NATE” into the office for an additude talk.
Now I see what 'NEWBIE’S have been talking about with these So Called FORUM POLICE.
I don’t blame NEWBIE’S for moving over to another DAW with additudes an answers like “RTFM” from NATE.
Never thought the ************* Police from the old forum Cubase.net
would reappear here. To Bad. :frowning:

Jack :imp: :imp: :imp:

ps: The songs Getting Better, Dear Prudence, the Beatles,
have been well rewarded $$$$$$$$$ over the years.
I don’t think Michael Jackson (owner of the catalog) would give a ********** about a Beatle cover song
on Steinbergs website.

I gave myself permission for the above

Grow up, crybaby. It’s the principle of the thing. If it were your music you’d be the first to cry if the shoe were on the other foot. Theif is the word that comes to mind.

Nate: If I and apparently others on this forum were Steinberg “YOU” would be looking for
another Job and I’m not talking about Copyright either. Your an impatient, arrogant, representative
for Steinberg.

Jack :imp: :imp: :imp:

Ps: Pro Tools - Music Software - Avid Hmmmm

You think I give a rat’s ass what a theif thinks of me? Like I said, grow up, crybaby. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:
