Hi, I have long experience from Finale but beginner on Dorico. How can I manually renumber the verses? In my sheet music the top line of text starts on verse 2

In Write Mode select the first syllable / word, open the lower zone (CTRL/CMD 8) and set the Line number to 2. This is much simpler than in Finale.

Thank you for quick answer… well for me the hole text line change place when I use the Line number , I just want to change the number 1 to number 2
Works here. I think you have to select all the lyrics in that verse first. Select the first word and do Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + A (Select more) a few times.
